I’ll freely admit that despite having a very nice reloading set up / area / and plentiful supplies, I  haven’t reloaded anything in about 7 years, when I reloaded 500 rds of precision 168g smk .308.

Been getting extra supplies and such but just haven’t managed to get around to actually loading anything for various reasons. Which will be changing later this summer / fall, I’m getting into a few new calibers, such as 7mm rem mag, ( dreading finding large magnum primers ) and  .357 mag and will be reloading some of those, as well as loading up some .243 and some .125g 300 blk for my wife’s deer hunting guns, and probably a little 45 colt as well, as I have no 45 colt ammo at all to go with my ruger 45 colt black hawk and Rossi 45 colt lever action.

Should be picking up a wet tumbler, case annealer, rotary case prep station and auto powder measure before the end of the year as well to upgrade some older stuff with fancier equipment. Wet timber will be especially nice.

I need to upgrade too. I still do everything like it’s the 70’s.

I’m way behind on .22-250. 50gr V-max and 39.5gr of H380.

I’m pretty close to having a varmint load for my SFAR. 110 V-Max.  I’ll knock out 150 or so once I have it finalized.

I have about 100 rounds of my AR varmint load left. I’ll probably do another 100 or so. 60gr V-Max with 25gr of Benchmark. That will las a few years.

Just loaded 1500 rounds of 9mm last weekend, going to load 1500 more once the projectiles I ordered arrived next week.

But...with the exception of the inbound projectiles, this is all with components purchased 5+ years ago. At today's prices, I'll probably be buying factory ammo for the first time in a long time when I run out of primers and powder.

About 15k of 9mm so far.

Huh?  Yeah I reload all the time, because I love to shoot.  Reloaded day before yesterday.

So far I've done 5-6k 9mm, 500 308, 2k 5.56, 3k 45acp

Up next:
more 5.56 (toolhead currently set for this so I want to run through my projectiles before switching loads)
300blk supers
300blk subs
more 308
8.6blk
more 9mm
probably some 40

I haven't reloaded in over a year because I moved to a new house.  I just started tumbling brass.  I'm going to reload .38, 300Blk, .32 acp, and 7.5x55.
Link Posted: 5/4/2024 11:35:07 AM EDT
[#7]
Too many to list, really.  By volume it's going to be .308 for rifle  and .38 Special in handguns.

I used to load for the stockpile, but I'm way over what I can ever shoot in my remaining lifetime so no more .223 etc unless I need a few special application rounds.

I reload for my PRS rifle only, currently 6 Creedmoor, although that will changer to Dasher once this barrel is done.

I've loaded a shitload of .38 Special so far this year. Mostly 158 grain LSWCs on top of HP38 or Bullseye. I did up a box with Red Dot but it doesn't meter as consistently and I had a few light loads.

Some of those bullets I cast myself in a Lee TL358-158 mold. I like this design because I can load them as-cast without sizing and tumble lubing is easy.  I also like the wide meplat on this design, in case I ever need to shoot something besides a target.  Since my final step in loading is to run the round though a Lee carbide factory crimp die, even if the bullets are a little fat the entire round gets sized down to factory spec.

Lubed bullets drying:

This morning I loaded 50 .32-20s for a 1920s-vintage S&W M1905 M&P. 96 grain RNFP on top of 3.5 grains Bullseye.

I use a Lee Classic Turret Press setup to do operations in batches. I.e., no automation. Powder is measured using an RCBS Little Dandy. I have the press mounted on an Inline Fabrication riser mount to which I added the side bin articulated mount.

I can't load as quickly as I could with a progressive press but it works for me.

Lots of 45ACP last week.  Also have done a 'bunch' of 9mm and am working on some 308 Winchester. Weather here is turning nice so will be outside doing yard working, so less time to reload!

I am kind of the same situation as you. I reloaded 750rds of 308 for a long range course but nothing recently. I have been buying components and tumbling brass. Also casted some bullets.

Loaded up some 10mm the other day. 10.5 gr BD over a 180gr Remington fmj that academy had marked for $8/100.

Loaded some 9mm earlier this year.

I bought a buddies entire supply of components,  as well as gotten a bunch of brass from arfcom, such as 7mm rem mag / 300 win mag brass n bullets via helpful people, the EE and such. I REALLY want to get those equipment upgrades badly but not sure I can swing it this year with everything iv got going.

Wife said she would get me the frankfort arsenal 7 liter wet tumbler for my birthday in July, so thats happening.  wet tumbler will be a huge help at cleaning crusty brass.

It is stupid easy to make your own wet tumbler.

Electric motor, v belt pulleys to reduce RPM to proper speed, 6 or 8” pvc, cap, pressure plug.
Last one I made cost around $200 for all new parts and could tumble 3k 5.56 rounds in a single shot

I made one about 15 years ago. It’s great for batches of 500 or more but it is super heavy and takes up a lot of room. Attachment Attached File

I spent most of 2023 doing brass prep on about 20k worth of LC 5.56 brass. Gonna be loading up at least 10k worth of FMJs, and a bunch of Vmax for prairie dogs, plus have some left over for some 75-77gr goodness.

My OCD wants to go back through it all and uniform all the primer pockets and deburr the flash holes too. Lol

Definitely gonna take a year off from bulk rifle brass prep when I'm done, but I'll have a nice stash of rifle ammo, and can just go back to the easy stuff of 9mm on a 650xl

Meh, loaded some 375H&H a while back, I've got some loads worked up with the 245 Bergers for my LR/hunting rifle in 300rum ready to go as soon as it warms up a bit more, I've always shot the 230 in it so going to see what the 245's will do, if they arn't better than will load some more 230's..........Need to load some more 230's for the sons rum as well...Also at some point need to load some 223/5.56 for the AR's, haven't reloaded for them in a year two, and have a decent pile of brass to prep....Maybe some 10mm, but thats not high priority....

I usually reload in the off season starting in December. Save brass for 9-10 months and start large batches of 9mm and .223.

I will shop around for deals and stack coupons and Cabelas points which allows me to buy components with little out of pocket expense.

It’s really a hobby and offers some protection against panic buying. I don’t save money but I shoot more.

I’d reload more if powder wasn’t tarded in price. I just spent a grand on loaded ammo at PSA before I opened this thread. Sometimes my time is worth more than the perceived savings in cost. I told the wife I was just going to reload for hunting ammo and buy the high volume stuff. If I had a progressive press I’d probably think differently. I should look into one this week.

Some of my crap. More in other cabinets.

6.5 creedmoor 147 eldm

I see a couple of M-S calibers (6.5 & 8) and .30 Rem for sure. Good chance of 7.65 Argentine and who knows what else will happen.

Gotta get out to the garage and cast a mess of bullets so I can load up a pile of pistol caliber stuff, not just for handguns but also have leverguns to feed. Suppose that applies to .45-70, too.

I need to get into reloading for .44 Magnum. I've saved all my brass and bought 500 300-grain bullets off the EE, just need everything else and the know how.

How is the Lee Loader for lever action rifles? I've read conflicting opinions, won't be loading anything else and can't afford an expensive press.

I've been using the same single stage Lee I had at 14. I'm 40 now.

I just finished processing 1800 .308 cases. All primed and ready to go.

Besides that I load .38, .357, 45acp, 45 colt/win mag,  556, .30-06, 7mm mauser and .30-30.

It's a never ending grind but I shoot every week and like my ammo fort full.

Both my kids have ammo cans full for when they move out.
