Easy to make too, and usually takes less than an hour from start to finish, including prep time.

Better than tonight's feature. I tried fresh mozz and wasn't crazy about it. It's not bad, it just didn't do it for me. The crust was a tad thin and ended up tearing a couple pieces while it was still too hot for human consumption, but the other 5 out six slices came out crispy on the bottom and chewy on the back.

Same. It doesn't help that I have 5 of them at the nearest end of the knife shelf.

Dunno, my other one isn't like this. It is used, so there's a good chance it's just dirty.

I probably will. Might open it and clean it to see if anything improves, but I don't see cleaning making that big of a change.

I can't remember when we last had a day here it didn't rain, and many of them a lot.

Plant looks like it is coming along. I ended up tossing mine out of the pot over the porch railing shaking some debris out of it after picking all the dead dormant traps off. Luckily it held together and landed upright so I took the chance to prop it up a bit higher in the pot. Weird plant - seems to like some abuse (and murder). Clay pot still seems fine - I guess it doesn't matter when it gets rained on from the top.

About every grocery store Phalaenopsis my wife bought over the last 15 years is in flower right now. The white one is an actual natural species, and also what she wore way back when we got married, so it rates a lot higher to me.

Could be that the washers are buggered, or you could try bending the lock bar to increase tension on the detent.

Well, it was spotless inside so maybe R1 cleans them up before going out. The washers were fine. Added a drop of nano oil and that helps it get out a bit farther but I still have to add impetus with my wrist to get full deployment. And in order to keep the blade centered, the pivot is too tight to get it to lock open even with a wrist flick. It's going back.

And there's a pretty nasty burr on the Spanto edge and it looks like they rubbed the flats on a belt while sharpening it.

Damn! Yours is looking good. I killed 2 plants when I potted, I think, by splitting them wrong. Hence the barren side of the pot. Maybe they will recover. Surprises to be getting 3 flowers this time. Might let one up to see if it drops some seeds.

It's a lot older than yours (at least twice as). You're doing great with it. The one thing I'll say is I felt it was kind of stuck and not progressing as well as I hoped in that type of media. For an outdoors plant at least the long fiber spag is definitely the way to go when you transplant it next. If you look close at my pic there's 11 flower spikes coming.

I dug out my other one to compare and it's a night and day difference. Has a nice sharp detent and once I break past it, the blade flys out with authority and locks open very smoothly.

I almost did that in my Spanto.

But I was determined to figure out why the knife guy trinity was Chris Reeves, Hinderer and Strider but didn't want to buy a Strider.

My pre Tri way XM came hard as fuck to flip. I did some adjustments and found a good balance.

It's a comfortable knife in the hand and alright to use.

I asked Kuraki to regrind it since it was thick by design.

Now it's a solid knife. But if ZT made a version of it.... I'd buy the ZT.

Hinderer also sells "skinny" knives which are more my speed.

My Tri-way skinny Hinderer is solid, cuts well, and is better than if ZT made a version of it.

Now it's a solid knife. But if ZT made a version of it.... I'd buy the ZT.

Hinderer also sells "skinny" knives which are more my speed.

My Tri-way skinny Hinderer is solid, cuts well, and is better than if ZT made a version of it.

The only one I had real interest in was the skinny no-choil slicer, but they seem to be unicorns.

I have this knife from Work Tuff Gear, the Tayal, made from SK-85 steel, dark washed. I used it one time to cut some steak I was eating and noticed the blade was stained after that. Can't figure out how beef grease would stain a knife blade. Anyone have any ideas on that? Not that it is a big deal but more of just curious.

@sywagon

I've been testing it out the last couple of weeks carrying it everywhere. No failures. That clip keeps it where I want it. For 20ish bucks for their cheapest one, not bad.

Stay bladed!

Orchids are about the only flower I miss having around.

That's a cool looking knife.  I like the slight upsweep in the blade.

Brave's ai says-
Comparison to Other Steels

SK85 steel is often compared to other high-carbon tool steels, such as 1095 and 1084. According to one search result, SK85 steel has a lower edge holding compared to 1095 steel. However, its hardness and wear resistance are still impressive after quenching and tempering.

It's not a stainless steel so staining or patina is normal. In my experience, beef usually makes stains with a bluish tint to them.

High carbon steel. It's gonna patina when you cut anything with high moisture or acid content.

I think we're about to the point where we can start planting seeds directly in the ground.

We've lost a couple of broccoli, cabbage and artichoke starts because we've had a couple of nights that just barely froze after we planted them. For the brassicas that didn't make it, I'm assuming that they were just weak plants. I'm not sure about the artichokes but I'll probably pick up a couple more starts and try again.

We still have a couple weeks before we can start planting. I did get the garden all ready to go. Just need to put the fence up.
Used the 111 to open this new saw so I could finish the steps at my cousin's. Blew the old saw up with a log I was trying to cut. Almost lost a finger on that little escapade. That's what the bandsaw is for! oh well. Got this saw on sale for 200 off normal price!
Used left over railing parts from his old deck as he's cheep! Phone distorted the pic for some reason. Weird! Stair treads are new and as close a match as we could get.
Dryer vent is the next project. Looks stupid like that. Builder dumped it in the attic and the moisture rotted the boards.

Package from Kailash showed up.

Spine is 9mm thick at the base. This thing is a tank. Nice fit and finish, and sharp AF.
