Modern weapon lights have plenty of spill. What am I missing?

I’m also confused as to the purpose of this. I want my light in line with the bore, and if I need to light something up without flagging it, a low ready or high port carry should be sufficient with modern lights, as mentioned above. This seems to add another point of weakness/failure (the mechanism and latching system) as well as another piece of equipment to “train” on, ie putting it back in line with the bore after rotating it.

Had a similar idea years ago but never went anywhere with it.
Good job making it real.

Guessing it’s to get a focused beam on an area without muzzling anyone. I see this making a lot of sense for LEO actually.

Tex is a good guy, glad to see your product thrown out on the forum. Good luck.

For LE practitioners of the “hard low ready” with the intent of inserting decision time between the “oh look, a person of interest” and the “bangbangbang”, and don’t want to be publicized in pictures/videos pointing rifles at randos, this likely makes sense. Probably not much need for the true military combatants or “gunfighters”. Some laypeople will find a place for it. A simple fixed model might be cool….I’d try it on a Mk18 or something MP5 sized.
