I generally only shoot trap with a trap grade Remington 870/full choke/30 inch barrel. I have access to two other barrels a 28 inch/modified/vent rib or a 26 inch improved cylinder and no vent rib. These are 60/70’s barrel and do not have removable chokes. Which should be better? Does a vent rib make much difference? Is 26 inch improved cylinder to open? Feels like a 30inch/modified choke seems to be more for sporting clays.

Thanks

Thank you!!
Thats what i was hoping to hear. I shoot trap regularly and to shoot some skeet should sharpen leads and follow throughs for my trap skills. Trap is still my favorite.  I was afraid the shorter barrel was too open.

Skeet chokes are more open than IC, I know people that shoot cylinder for skeet.
