Renamed the thread

figured I would post here for fun asking for help before asking my local region, etc. Arfbro racers unit!

I have been rebuilding a former World Challenge GT C6 Corvette, originally built by LG then campaigned by CRP for Hawk/Carlisle. Mike Skeen, a good friend, drove this one most of the time. Moving to vintage it was driven by quite a few people from 2014-2019 before sitting.

I unfortunately wrecked it in a time trial but I intend to W2W locally and and SVRA/HSR as budget allows. The car is a pretty big basket case as most old pro race cars are once they are no longer competitive.

Stock C5/6 steel frame, stock control arms, holinger sequential, 6.0 LS2, etc.

I think it could be in one of the ST classes since it is a production Vette frame and not a tube/solid axle car for GT.

Pics before I had an incident

So many folks confuse Lou and Louis!! LOL!!

I used to race against Lou in GT2.

Both are fairly active on the corvetteforum from what I recall.

To the OP - good luck with the car! GT2 was a FUN class to race in! I ran tube frame cars (ASA/GTA and TA2) in GTA, GT2 and then Trans Am TA2. A LOT of fun!! After having incidents with tube frames vs production cars, I'll take a tube frame any day...much easier / cheaper to repair!! And typically built like tanks! Safe as all get out too!

@captain_buddha that’s awesome! Thanks!

I would totally get a tube car if I could go back in time. This thing is a basket case

I will say, it's never too late LOL! The going rate for a nice ASA/GTA car is $20-25K, that's what it was back in 2013 when I bought one and it's still about the same. Not that I'm trying to persuade you... LOL
