Found this Loaded Operator MC in a pawn shop $650 out the door.  Got it because I had wanted a loaded operator for a while but they were discontinued. I see it says loaded operator whereas the new ones are just MC Operators. What is the difference?

Pic of pawn shop find!

No idea, but epic find. At $650, I'd have picked it up as well.

Passed one up pre Covid that was $750 which was the going rate at the time for used.  Said I’d get one later and then Covid happened and the MSRP of the guns new went up driving the used prices up!  Want to shoot it!  Might be a woods carry gun for me!

I’m not an expert but I have an MC Operator. From the looks of it the current Marine Corp Operator is the same as the old version that came before the kind you bought.

I think the major differences were going from no front strap checkering and pachmeyer wrap around grips to adding texturing and G10 grips and no lock out

DISCONTINUED: 1911 LOADED MARINE CORPS OPERATOR

@D_J
Do you think moving this to 1911 would get more interest?

That’s about as far as I’ve gotten. Just reading off of Springfield’s site. I tried to go deeper and just cannot see if anything internal is different or if there are MIM small parts to worry about like in the new ones.  I appreciate everyone’s replies!

They all had some MIM. Pretty sure the Pro had one piece in it.

I think they added that when they started the new slide roll mark

Same gun with different configuration. OPs Loaded Operator was a newer version with Front strap treatment while the original one has rubber grip without front strap treatment.

Loaded Operator was discontinued with introduction of refreshed Operator production lineup. The original MC Operator is still in production specifically for California compliance. MC Operator and Pro Operator are the only two rail SA 1911 on the CA compliant roster. Pro production is also gone that leave MC Operator the only railed SA 1911 for CA market.

@mlin thank you so much for the info!

I got some rounds through it and my oh my it's a sweet gun. Now I have to ask. What's the best way to get a threaded barrel but still retain the accuracy?  I was reading a drop in is okay but getting one fit and made for the gun itself is the way to go?
