I just bought a nickel model 37 and looking for a leather OWB. I typically only carry autos IWB but I find small revolvers awkward to draw from IWB. Who makes a good low profile leather OWB with no thumb strap?

My two favorites are simply rugged and Ritchie

The simply rugged sourdough ( I have a couple) is very low profile built to last a lifetime you hardly know the gun is there

I have a Simply Rugged pancake type for a J frame. Works very well for me.

Good work and a short wait time for custom leather.

Milt Sparks PCH holds the gun really close to the body

Do you mean the pmk?

Not quite as close as a Pancake style and lower but it's easier to draw and reholster.

There is a PCH and it’s a pocket holster.

I used a Don Hume belt scabbard thing, don't recall the model.

I bought a 1791 recently for my no dash model 60. Seems to work out well for me.

I ended up ordering one of these cheap Don Hume holsters to try. It seemed like everything else I could find was going to give me more holster than gun. Heavy, double thickness leather, thumb breaks, tensions screws, etc. They seemed like overkill for a 14 oz j frame.

JIT. Fabulous for a minimalist type holster. Perfect for J frames.

Any opinions on Galco for this? I’ve been happy with their Concealment models for autos, and I’ve been meaning to pick up a pair of holsters for a J.

For off the shelf it is hard to beat Galco Combat Master

I have been very pleased with a holster I got from WhiteGateLeather on Etsy. Top grade leather- rides close to the body.

Bought a Concealment, and a IWB leather from them. Very happy with both. I like the IWB because even though you can’t really see it in the pics, the tip of the clip is notched to go over a belt loop. I like the Concealment because it has a flat-ish back instead of the lazy ass “two of the same leather cutout sewn together” designs that don’t fit well with horsehide belts and collapse when you draw.

Interestingly enough, 1791 makes some very nice rigs for not a whole lot of money - I have had a few, open top OWB rigs, work quite well.

Your days activities might be way different than mine, but with that style holster I try to push the gun out of it several times daily due to catching the barrel on "things".
So be cautious with that.
