I haven't been to Italy in a long time. First week of August, our daughter will be playing soccer there. We want to go, as well.

Firenze as a base camp? I lived there in the 90's. It looks different today.

Prato, Siena, San Gimignano, etc  maybe Rimini?

Rent a car? Or driver? Train?

Grazie.

What are your plans beside the soccer?

Rimini is a weird option after you named the best places in Tuscany

Tourist stuff. My wife has never been to Tuscany.

Rimini Lambretta Centre is a shop that I really want to visit.

I have a couple of vintage Italian scooters.

Gori's shop in Firenze is closed now. I used to walk past it almost everyday.

And ci piace il vino.

Ciao! I made it home. Hot and humid in Firenze. The town center was packed. Like Disneyland with crowds.

The rain cooled it off a bit. I love this city. We spent most of our time south of the Arno. Completely different vibe. The people there are cool.

Our trip was too short to do a lot of traveling.

Siena was prepping for Il Palio. Less crowded than Firenze.

We are considering doing L'Eroica next year. I have my old race bike from the 80's.

Glad you enjoy the trip.
I’ve lived in Tuscany when I was a kid (following my father’s deployment).. overall I think it’s the best part of Italy.. you have the sea & the mountain.. cool people too.
This summer was incredibly hot & humid.

I’m up north in the mountain right now and its still hot as well.
