First post Picked up a new (last Nov) PAR223 and because of personal reasons just got around to giving it a good look and want to get to the range to get it up and going. One issue, the rear takedown pin is a bear to operate. I get it's new and needs to loosen up so i worked it in/out a bunch of times and opens ok but putting it back in needs a hammer (rubber!) to pop it back in the last bit into the receiver hole. Is this normal and give it more time to break in or should I give Troy a call? EDIT: so I took a real close look, tested witha sized brass punch and is as i thought, the upper lug doesnt align with the receiver holes. Just a hair but enough....sent Troy a note. Anyone else have this/ just wondering if its a freak thing or there was a run of these.
Had exactly the same with my PAR 223. When I picked up the rifle the sales guy wanted to demonstrate the takedown (AR15s are not the order of the day where I live) and the problem became obvious. The rifle then spent 5 minutes with a gunsmith in their workshop - so I don't know exactly what was done. .... but you are not the only one who has seen the problem.
Forgot about this.... I did get a hold of Troy and they were awseome. Sent me a prepaid label, sent it back and got it back all less then a week. Problem fixed, their CS is great.
