Dear SE...
We spoke six (!!!) years ago about a Norinco M14S I bought specifically to turn into a top-notch Scout rifle. I regret that until now I have been unable to dedicate the funds toward such a project.
Here's what I'm wondering: do you guys do/still do the USGI bolt conversion? If so, do you modify the receiver to accept any USGI bolt, or do you modify the bolt itself? Needless to say, I prefer the former over the latter...
I ask because not only do I need that done to my rifle, but I'd also need to have the barrel cut down to 18", along with whatever other updates (gas block sight, vortex, trigger work, etc.) done to it, and I need to know if I can have it done in one fell swoop, or if I need to have the bolt conversion done by Warbirds first.
Thanks!
