I was recently blessed to be given the opportunity to review an upcoming product slated for release very soon. For years the SMC has proven itself on the MOE handgaurds to be the most effective way to mount flashlights ranging from .83 to 1.30 in diameter. I myself love my Surefire L4 mini and it takes everything I can dish at it and my comp can dish at it. Everyone has asked for the 1913 variation to attach anything from the WML, to X300's, and TLR lights and it's variations. Earl has been working for a good amount of time to come out with this mount and it is finally here!
After receiving and installing my mount onto my preexisting SMC, I tried a good amount of lights I had in 1913 and could not find one that would not attach, meaning the mount has a gracious amount of clearance on both sides. The mount is as an angle as you can see, and it also slightly raises whatever light you choose to run higher on the side of the front sight block. I don't have a super duper drug scale to tell you how much it weights, but I can not tell any difference between the SMC with a ring or the 1913 mount on when they are both in my hands. Overall, this light mount is another amazing option from Impact Weapons Components and I have to thank Earl very much for letting me try out his product. There is a lot of people in this business, but absolutely no one better than Earl and his company who make a no BS product that will always stand its ground in the industry.
