My in-laws are planning on going on a off shore fishing trip in June off of Hatteras NC. I'm a mountain kinda guy so I'm a little out of my element. Any tips or tricks . What to wear on the boat ?
Thanks |

Sunscreen, inflatable life jacket (more comfortable), Bring extra clothing because even if it’s warm on land when you get out there it could get cooler

Don't stare at the waves and don't go down stairs or fall over.

Sneakers or boat shoes are a must.
Volunteer to cut chum and you’ll be a hit. Get bikini pics and post here. |

If you start to feel seasick, don't do down below. Cut bait. Don't fall overboard. Have fun!

Scopolamine.
I did deep sea white fishing 42 years ago. I don’t remember much about the fishing, but I remember barfing and retching for most of the 3 hours. It started when they chummed the waters. 🤮 |

Um, no biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

They make non-drowsy Dramamine. Get some.
Seasickness will ruin your day. If you don't go offshore often enough to acclimate, you don't know how susceptible you are. Don't roll the dice. Scopolomine as suggested above is good stuff, but it's expensive and prescription-only. I captained a commercial boat decades ago, and had no issues after the first week on the water, no matter how rough it was, because my brain had acclimated. If I go out in rough seas on a friend's boat now I take Dramamine. |

The object is to have your sword wiped clean and resheathed before your enemy's head hits the ground.

DONT GO HUNG OVER!!!!!!!!!! a long sleeve sun shirt , sun hat , nuclear grade sun block , easy to eat snacks , gator aid ,
Do not fall asleep in “the chair”. An old trick on the greenhorns is to wait till they fall asleep in the chair then clip a 5 gal bucket on , let it out a couple 100 ft then start yelling . Good for 30 minutes of entertainment. |
