I shot this at 600 this am. Five round group but mostly interested in what the 3 shot cluster measures. This is a 6.5 Creedmoor.

Thanks!

Put the tips of the calipers center to center and there is your answer. That being said the pic shows about .531. Nice group. You probably pulled the others but still on paper is on paper for guys like me.

I’m sure someone will come along and chew on me for this.

You are right on. We were talking about this today. One guy is really good at finding dead center. I’m really good at hitting targets. While he can put together some nice 3 shot groups I tend to make more hits.

I was just hoping to get someone with that fancy group program to let me know the moa of the three rounds. I think they are close to .1 moa.

Measure edge to edge and subtract bullet diameter and you'll have the group.

Lol! How often do you shoot deer at 600 yards?

I don’t.

Cool thanks. I need to look into one of these tools.

On target is windows only. Unfortunately I don’t own a windows machine. I’ll keep looking for a similar tool for my iPad.

What size is the target? I’m guessing the five shot group is under one moa. That right there is nothing to sneeze at. The three shot group measures you need to practice more because the riffle is capable of better accuracy. What did you call in your log book? Would be the questions I would be asking myself. Instead of the three shot group that is very impressive. I would be searching myself for why the other two shots were out. Was it a wind call, did I snatch the trigger?

So the 7-ring is 1 MOA at 600?

And yes, I know the two fliers were me. I’m lucky that’s all they were out.

When did the NRA change from the MR to MR-65 for 500yds? I'm too young to be an old head.

Disregard my above OnTarget measurement. Someone @ me later tomorrow or so, and I'll remeasure.

That’s still nothing to sneeze at. I was just wondering if you noticed a trigger snatch or maybe a mirage shimmer. The best advice I have gotten on this forum has been slow down call your shots and make notes. Then check your target. Another question. Was the aiming point too small for your cross hairs? A quarter MOA wide cross hair covers a lot of aiming point at 600 yards.

Good questions. Iirc the red dot as the aim point is 3” so right around 1/2moa. Yes mirage was definitely and issue. I shoot with a can and don’t have a cover on it. This string was also @ 25 rounds into the session.

Reality is I used to be able to shoot 1/2 moa groups pretty regularly. But now age is affecting a lot of things and injuries are compounding the issues. I have no doubt the gun is more accurate than me. I just really enjoy it when I can see decent results on paper.

The 3-shot cluster had a MR of 0.045 MOA, and ES of 0.089 MOA.

Yeah I’m betting you had some shimmering from the mirage. It’s too bad you didn’t have a target camera up to see which shot hit the bullseye. That’s why I like steel at longer distances you can get a decent idea of shot placement.
