I’m diving into a little more precision shooting and using scopes. I’m mainly a red dot shooter so far. Anyways I’m getting a scope that has a zero stop feature. My question is
Do you remove the zero stop feature before zeroing the rifle ? Or can it stay in there, zero the rifle, then remove zero sop and add it back so the zero and zero stop match? Thanks |

The zero stop is integrated into the elevation turret of your scope. Generally, you remove the turret cap and loosen the zero stop, zero the scope, then lock down the stop and replace the turret cap aligning the 0 mark with the reference mark on the tube.

I have this scope on a .22lr. What I did was I turned the turret down to -0.5 mil (5 clicks) to give me a little leeway for closer shots and in case of shooting on a slope where you might want to dial instead of "holding under".
Then set the zero stop there, and when you dial back to the stop, just turn it up 5 clicks to be at zero again. |

I like having the .5 mils below or about 1.5-2 moa as it gives you that ability to dial below your zero if needed. A lot of higher end optics are set up this way from the factory. |
