Here's a couple of pics of World Champion Rob Leatham shooting Groups 12" 6.8 SPC.  I was told that he really was impressed (who wouldn't).

I wouldn't.  For 2 grand an upper Barrett can keep that.

Kool!  Rob is amazing to watch at work ( American Shooter show ).

I'm curious, are these pics taken in KY?  Did you take these pics?

... Yeah, he is cool. He lives just a few blocks west of me. We used to hang out some years ago, don't see him too much anymore other than the grocery store and Rio Salado when I get out on Tuesday nights.

Believe pics were taken at Ft. Campbell Ky and no I wasn't there, I'm down range.

How did he get ahold of that Wildcat ammo?

Ammo should have been contracted ammo.

I've been to Phoenix once in my life and I got to shoot the Tuesday Night Steel a couple of months back.  It was fun.

If you are good enough, they will find you and ask you to sign.

That bbl. looks longer than 12" in the bottom pic.  Perspective does odd things at times.

Look carefully.   The rifles - or at least the uppers - differ from picture 1 to picture 2.

They are.  The top one has a SIR, the bottom one a PRI tube.  Different optics and one has a SF light.

I saw it earlier  but wasn't totally sure.  Since someone else saw it...I guess I'm not nuts

Is anyone selling Chrome lined 6.8 barrels yet?

I've heard from a very good source that 6.8 spc is dead. 5.56  77 gr ammo is what is going to be adopted.

It may be dead as far as the military goes but Remington is bringing out a bolt gun and rumor has it a pump gun as well to take the new ctg.

Well, that just sucks!  I hope it doesn't die for the civies.

This round will probably end up like the .260Remington, it's a good idea but just won't have enough support to make it popular. Remember the .41Mag, good handgun round but just didn't catch on, same with the 10mm, it got pushed aside by the .40S&W.   It's sad that it's not going to catch on, it seems like a good round. I can see the governments side, they've got hundreds of thousands of 5.56mm guns and rounds that our tax dollars are tied up in. It'd be ashamed to waste em'.

Sorry, 6.8 for the military isn't dead.  It may not be adopted by the entire force, but for SOF it's gonna hang around for a while.

That would be too dog gone funny.  I can't believe how looney people went for this thing.

I wouldn't even consider messing with a SPC set up until it was mainstream Military for at least 10 YEARS.

It shoots things.

I, personally, hope it catches on, if for no reason other than for Barret to get a decent return on their money.  I like Barret.
