Did everyone quit making the A2 uppers? Seems like no one has stock.

It would look slightly more correct, but I don’t think it would be worth it if yours is already pinned.

Thanks, I did too lol. The combination of the mid length has, nox9 and the A5 buffer setup makes this thing flat shooting and it’s stupid great handling too.

I'm not a fan of the furniture but that's personal preference, everything else looks great.

The nice thing about it is that you can swap the lower and the handguard out in 30 seconds and have retro styling. I go back and forth on stuff a lot so that’s likely to happen.

I agree!   I have a little "Commando" clone that I swap out the furniture almost every time I actually go use it.   It gets the old carbine handguards and the small CAR stock when it sits in the safe and when I get it out to fondle it...but I hate shooting it with that little CAR stock on it and I hate the stock handguards...but it sure looks good for pictures with that old retro stuff on it!   I also don't particularly like the A2 grip, but that stays on most of the time.

Correctness hasn't been the goal for me, but the 3 prong just looks off for my taste but it works so idk. Fortunately I have been messing with it on my SBR lower just with different furniture so I could see what I liked the best. If I didn't want to suppress it I would just SBR another lower and run a A2. maybe I will have to build another

Finally finished my build after few weeks of putting off!
Fit and finish is great. PSA M16A2 lower and TT A2 upper have a slight slop but nothing too bad.
All in all can’t wait to shoot and sight it in.
Hopefully I’ll figure out how to post pictures soon.

Finally found a A2 upper, once that, and the BCG and Gas tube show up and its time to slap it together....

Im really digging this RRA HBAR 16" mid gas Le trade in upper I picked up from Buckinghorse. Probably going to put a PRO on it next but for now I love the weight of this thing. Makes me want to shoot unsuppressed again.

Can anyone comment about the color of the anodizing of the Thunder Tactical A2 stripped uppers? Will it match closely to the anodizing on PSA standard lowers?

My PSA lower is a bit more shiny than my other lowers for some reason, but it matches the other lower its on pretty well and is the same shade as my m&p lower too.

The lower its on most of the time

Probably a bad picture but this is a Thunder Tactical A2 upper on a PSA M16A2 lower.

Look what came in the mail today..

I slapped it together just to check it out, waiting on my gas tube,BCG and a GI charging handle

It's funny, I forgot how light an standard A2 Carbine is.

I have to have my Rubber coated K2+ and I could never stand the N stock, no grip to it. So I got the LWRC stock which has a small foot print and a rubber butt pad.

If my shit comes in, I may be able to go to the range this weekend and shoot it.

My BCG and charging handle show up today.... but no Gas tube... turns out it ships from a different supplier...Grrrr.

But tracking says Fed Ex delivery tomorrow. So I may get to shoot it this weekend yet.

Slapped it together last night and hit the range this morning to check for function and zero.

Before I put it together, I checked the size of the gas port on the barrel. it was .062" I like to shoot the cheap stuff, so I reamed it out to a .067" and assembled it.

I tested with Wolf .55 gr. 1 rd in the magazine.  rds later, all locked the bolt back.

did my 25 yd zero. about 10 clicks left windage and down about 4 clicks and on the money.

All the brass piled up in a nice little pile at around 4 O'clock

Ran some PMC as well. no issues.

did a 5 rd head shot at 25yds

Overall, it's a sweet little rig.

Will most likely get a rail for the carry handle and mount a red dot on there. Maybe a light, we'll see.

Do the Thunder Tactical uppers have forging marks on them? Looking at the pics it appears there are none.

I just called them to check on the upper and was told that they are waiting on them being returned from being ano'd. Said he thinks a week or two.

Just be aware, the Brownells A2 barrels don't have a ramped barrel extension.  I'm pretty sure the Window barrels do.  The DSA one definitely does. (and, an "F" front sight base)

Dumb question, but looking at drawings the difference between f marked and non f marked is not much.

I have an f marked carbine barrel I want to pare with an a2 upper.

This as simple as adjusting the front sight post, or am I better off replacing?
