What would be the best range finder for primarily bow hunting and some rifle hunting? I am in charge of buying one for the FIL and have no idea.

I personally use a Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC. It has Angle compensation for bow and rifle hunting.

It is in your price point and it's a very reliable, dependable unit.

I've used the Leupold RX750 for the past 4 or 5 seasons and don't have any complaints. I'm still on the original battery.

I just picked up a Nikon Archer's Choice. Haven't hunted with it yet, but I've been using at the range and in the hills. I like it a lot and it didn't break the bank at $245.

I love my leupold full draw, I use it all the time. Very easy to use and seems accurate.

If not for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.
