I'm working on one of the old Marlin Model 50 .22LR rifles, and would like to install a set of factory-correct front and rear sights. In case it matters, this is an "early pattern" Model 50, with a manual shell extractor.

Do any of you gents have a reference book which shows these sights, and maybe lists a description and part numbers? If so, I would be most grateful if you could reply to this thread with a scan/pic. of that info.

Have you tried Numrich?

Numrich just has bits and pieces for these rifles; more parts than anyone else, but unfortunately no sights.

These types of things pop up on ebay.

That's where I have been looking, and I kind of know (generally) what the originals look like. These same sights might have also been used on a different model of Marlin, so finding out their specifications or other details would really help me in my search.

Is there a reason you don't want the rear sights that Numrich sells?

That rear sight would certainly work, but its appearance is very different from an original, which is machined from one piece of steel. The Numrich unit is a newer type, with the leaf attached to the dovetail block with a screw.

I do appreciate the suggestion though.
