N SC and W NC need to be prepared for the flash flood threat coming. Severe threat is about over for tonight but these storms are dropping a lot of water in a short amount of time.

Edit- Still a slight tornado risk with some of these storms but dropping off pretty fast. If anything does spin up it'll be on the weaker side.

That’s my camper in the upper right over the chainsaw guys shoulder. It’s in Tazewell on Norris Lake, hoping damage is minimal, but lines are down all over there so nobody is being let in.

I live not too far from exit 46 of i-65.

I’m
Southeast of there. We just got power back!

I strongly suspect the area northwest of there will be out for days. I’ve heard reports of transmission lines down in that area. Power lines down everywhere.

Our house is in Huntsville. Looks like 2nd one was about 5 miles south of us.

First one hit some very populated areas East of downtown.

As mentioned for these areas do not discount the flood threat in TN. A lot of moving water right now and these flooded roadways are still going to be strong tomorrow morning.

That first one didn't miss me by much and it got damn windy here at the house.  From what I could see we've just got a bunch of limbs and branches down up here off of Bankhead.

I have friends within a mile of there. I recognize the house because I drive past it every week on the way to church.

They’re OK - we checked on them immediately after the storm passed.

That same front line just came through middle TN. One news place my wife saw on FB reported some rotation near us.

It's 3:30 and we're having an animated family discussion in the safe room.

ETA:

We live just north of the red box here.

Checking in safe. Grumpy but safe.

The cell that put us in the safe room at 330 did produce a tornado a few miles from here. But no damage near us.

Like you, I have relatives all around that area.  When I talked with my parents who live in Sparta yesterday afternoon, the areas around Hilham and Airport Road in Livingston had received some damage.  There were scattered areas that also experienced some flooding.  This morning when I talked to them again, they didn't have much else to add.  My in-laws live around Gainesboro and didn't report any damage - just lots of wind and rain.

I'm in Sparta.

Just some wind and a lot of rain around here.  The Calfkiller is pretty high and so are other smaller streams, but that is about it.

I haven't heard anything about damage in Cookeville, I don't think they really had much.

So the numbers I heard were ~40 houses destroyed in Maury County. ~100 damaged seriously. 1 killed, at least 4 wounded.

Great:  I just lost all my work due to another 5 minute power outage.

These pics come from about 3 miles from me.  Friends house had a tree come down in the front yard; did minor damage.  Trees in the back yard did a number on his barn.  And just down the road, it looks like a bomb went off.

This is part of his barn, which is about 100-150 yards or so away:

These trees came down in the valley below me, about a mile away:

My downhill neighbor lost a big tree in his back yard; no known damage that I can tell.  If anyone wants firewood, now's the time to get some!

ETA:  We lost power around 3 am this morning; it returned around 5:30 this afternoon; then we just lost it again about 10 minutes or so ago for five minutes.  I hope that's the last of it.

I got to drive though the impacted area of eastern Maury County yesterday.

I'll say this: the crews that opened the road back up after the initial storm hit did an awesome job. I've seen worse tornado damage sites, but never so many trees in the road. You could pick up hundreds of cords of firewood right now without ever getting 20' off the pavement.

It's a humbling thing to see the damage.
