Here’s an interesting one. I’m loading some .429 ammo and I noticed one case with a distinct line around the inside. It looks a lot like when a .223 or .308 has been loaded a few times and is getting ready to come apart.

I can fee the line on the inside, using a piece of wire, and I can faintly see it on the outside of the case as well. The line is about 3/8” below the shoulder.

This case would have been loaded and fired twice at this point. I was working on the 3rd loading.

I checked the rest of my cases and did not find any others like this.

I realize the .429DE cartridge has only been around for a few years and isn’t hugely used. But has anyone come across this type of failure before?
