Hello guys,

Can you recommend a company that offers good sights for classic pees?

I recently acquired a P226 that had some old dot-on-bar type sights with a dead front tritium sight.  I had a set of XRAY3 sights from a P229 and tried them, but they were shooting 6" low at 15m.  I studied and learned about Sig's sight height chart and ordered a set of 8-8 height XRAYs because those are the most extreme I could find.  They weren't extreme enough.  The target below is 7m top and 15m bottom.  Still 3" low at 15.  Too low for me.  Sig's sight height chart references 10 rear to bring the POI up, but I can't find sights available with a 10 rear anywhere.

I would love to stick with TruGlo XRAY3 sights, but TruGlo can't be reached, and won't return emails or phone calls.  Does anyone have a recommendation for another company that offers sights for the P226?  I looked at Dawson Precision, but their rear sight is funky.  I'd like something that imitates the simple design of Sig sights.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I think Dawson Precision may make custom height night sights.

Thanks for the replies.  Sig's website doesn't have any sight heights other than #6 and #8, which I've tried.  I think I need a #10, which Sig's sight height charts reference, but I can't find for sale anywhere.  Dawson's sights are too big.  I'll use them if there isn't anything else available that looks more like stock sights.

Are there any recommendations you can think of other than TruGlo, Dawson, and Trijicon?

Sig p series are made to use a combat hold sight picture. Is this what you are using?

I bought some Trijicon suppressor height sights when I was going to put an optic on my P226 SAO.  Never installed them. I would assume Trijicon makes standard height as well for the P226.

How did it shoot with the old sight that went dead? It’s too bad truglo wont respond. Maybe call Trijicon.

If 9mm try a 147gn load.

If 40 try a 180gn load.

AmeriGlo has several SIG sight sets. Some use a combination of #6 front and #8 rear and some use #8 front and rear.
