So I know its not your typical precision rifle caliber, but however it is the caliber i have selected to build a precision hunting rifle in, cause the state I'm moving to sucks for caliber laws.

The main question is which style rifle I should build? I will end up building a precision hunting rifle off of one of the two styles. Just cant decide on which one. I know the obvious pros and cons, bolt gun will be lighter, gas gun will be harder to shoot well. But what say the precision rifle general gang.

Id probably do a 358 win in your context and not overthink it. The 375 and 45 raptor are neat but not worth the struggle for a hunting or precision rifle.

Bolt gun.

What are the laws?

I love my 375 Raptor! But I built a 12" pistol to hunt with, and I intend to hunt with subsonics and suppressed.  I would recommend a bolt gun also.
Mine groups 1/2 moa with 400gr Maker subs, but it definitely is a shorter-range setup.  I also have 190gr Maker T-Rex bullets for supersonic loads.

What state are you moving to, and what do you want to hunt?
