Winter of 19-20, when I was giving all the weapons a good cleaning, I took the AK74 muzzle compensator off my SLR-106FR, cleaned off all the carbon, put some gun grease on it, and put it aside.  Over the summer of 2020, we didn't shoot more than 100 rounds out of the thing, so I didn't worry.  It was all Federal ammo, no dirty eastern bloc stuff.

Fast forward to today and I can't get that &#%#*% 74 compensator off.  The block I put into my 7.62 AKs won't hold it as the 74 is 5.56 NATO, so I haven't been able to put it on a bench.

What did you do to get a dang compensator off when it is frozen on there?

The detent that keeps the brake from spinning isn't frozen?

I'd probably use a good penetrating oil and let it soak overnight as mentioned, then use something as a wrench thru the brake slots for leverage. If that doesn't work I'd go with heat.
