I am looking to start making bulk arrows for myself and am trying to decide between bamboo and cedar. I shoot both and am leaning towards bamboo since they are considerably cheaper but my other reason is I can't seem to get a good seal on my cedar shafts. Any suggestions??

Thanks

The archery forums aren't all that busy here and the traditional section even less so. I shoot aluminums - the only wood arrows I have ever dealt with were some I bought from Rose City for my daughter, sorry.

I think any commercial sealant will do.  I have heard of putting them in a dry box for a day or two first, sealing the ends, and then going along the shaft.  I'm not 100%, though, since I haven't shot them in quite a while.  I never really worried about sealing them, to be honest, and I did fine.
