Are there waiting periods for free speech? Or to vote? Or 4th amendment protections?
|
|
Quoted: Waiting for all the "move to a free state" and "you voted for this" guys... View Quote It's just blue states doing blue state stuff. I have to assume that is what the people who live there want, as screwed up as I think it is. If we can't have some kind of separation from the blue states, could we at least work out an agreement where states can elect to either follow the constitution or not, so that we can quit worrying about Democrats trying to push their gun laws on us? |

And now NH stands alone. Too bad the invasion by liberals has been ramped up the past few years. We don't stand a chance.

I worry about this too. I'd move to NH, but how long would that work out for? How many more times am I going to move to "escape" bullshit gun law? Quoted: Does that also mean no long gun sales to Maine residents by other states FFLs? No. |

My checks come back here before my credit card transaction is complete. I've never waited for a gun.
Blue States seem like fags. |

I'm thankful that I live where I do.
I bought another .22 last week (Ruger American) and I was out the door in 25 minutes and shooting it an hour later. |

Shouldn't politicians have a 3 month waiting for stupid laws???

10 days in California. Doesn't matter if you own zero guns or over a hundred. Fuckin stupid.

Is there evidence that people who pass a background check are more likely to commit a crime in the first 72 hours?

I live in Maine and follow the news, especially gun stuff closely, first I heard of this was when they were debating last evening. I bet 99% of the state has no idea this happened. |

Quoted: Not in ME, but I live on the border and follow Maine news, have many friends in Maine...this is the first I've heard of this. Not sure it's Mainers' laziness rather than legislative scumbaggery. View Quote It was more or less legislative scumbaggery. The state legislature has two sessions. The first session is for ordinary lawmaking, while the second, much shorter session is supposed to be for budgetary items. A waiting period bill was defeated in the first session, but was somehow reintroduced under a different bill number in the second session. Two senators were absent for the vote, but the president of the senate used some obscure parliamentary procedure to cast their votes for them, passing the bill by one vote. The bill also passed the house by just one vote. |

Sorry you must wait 72 hours to vote.
Sorry you must wait 72hours to speak. What happened to a right delayed is a right denied. Remember Obama said if we cannot win at the federal level go after it at the state level. |

Our state D supermajority legislature and current governor is running this place like they are the gestapo. They have their ranked mulligan voting scheme and they know that with all the fleeing Massachusetts and NY/ NJ liberals they can't loose another election. We are now Northern Massachusetts once again. We went from having a great governor to dog shit governor. COVID marked a mass exodus from liberal shitholes to Maine where they gobbled up properties and housing. Now the people who grew up here and have to work here can't afford to live here and their jobs are disappearing. All in favor of the new liberal retiree/ trust baby goal of all you are allowed to do for a job is sell is sell granola to hikers. Maine is just their retirement playpen. They brought their politics with them and we are getting overwhelmed with their bull shit.

Quoted: This could seriously impact the Kittery Trading Post's business. View Quote That’s where I bought my first handgun. A S&W 1911. Interesting thought….KTP keeps a NH address just across the bridge so they can sell guns to NH residents without having to ship to a FFL. When I bought my handgun, I bought it at the Maine store then had to follow an employee across the bridge to take possession of it. It looked like an old car rental office. I wonder if this will have any impact on that, or will they just say, “Nope, it’s from NH”. ETA: NVM. Already answered. |

That will help Trump in Maine...
As well the ATF ban on private sales. If we flip another seat on the USSC, and flip a bunch of lower courts, we may finally get some of this shit overturned. |

View Quote That is my hope. Maine is the most rural state in the country population wise. TONS of essentially hill people that don't have much political engagement. My hope is when they roll into the local shop to pick something up for the next hunting season and get told to come back it will piss a LOT of people off. As far as stuff that will bother the average fuddish gunowner this ranks very high. So many RURAL areas here have D in the legislature essentially for historical reasons. Would love to get Lepage back. One of the last politicians that "said it like it is" |
