10 rounds get things plenty hot. It's best to let it cool off a bit after that. 5 and 5 is the same as 10 rounds and you don't have a big mag hanging down.

I had to modify pmags to get them to lock into my savage 10ba in 308. Both the 5 and 10rnd mags

I run a big magnum bolt gun(300RUM), it uses the 5 rd accurate mag 3.850" CIP mags, 5 at a time is fine, changing mags is fast and easy....Plus, by the 5th rd, you are going to want to cool the barrel anyway..they are a bit expensive for 30" Bartlein barrels......Besides, its a bolt action, you can likely single feed it just as fast if you needed to at least when in a static setting...

Accurate mag offers 3 different AICS type 300wm mags and either 3 or 5 rd  from 78 bucks to 85 bucks...If you might load high BC bullets I would go 3.850" CIP length, it's the longest magnum length made for longer bullets.. they make bottom metal as well that fit their mags for most stocks....

AW AICS mags are the way to cram lots of rounds in a small form factor

I'm all for magpul making a .223/5.56 family AICS mag.
50 bucks for a ruger 350L AICS mag hurts.

The PMAG AC is 5.56/223 only.
MAGPUL says not use it with 300BO.
But thanks for the tip on the MDT. I ordered one to try.
