Started with the keymod version, ground the nub in the middle flat, then ran it through the table saw leaving two ridges that fit the grooves in the alpha
The bolt needs to be longer: 10-32 x 1-1/2" worked for me. You might need to grind a little off the end or add a lock washer if your barrel is fatter than gov profile
Backing nut came from Noveske, they were making alpha parts for a while but I can't find them on their website. Any flat nut large enough will probably work though
https://www.mcmaster.com/products/slot-nuts/low-profile-narrow-base-weld-nuts-8/ The only difference is that the Noveske backing nut fits into the hole in the alpha to prevent movement. Not sure how important that is. The hand stop really locks into the rail if the grooves are cut right
