If your intended purpose is to shoot long range, do not just zero at 50 and have it in your head that all will be well.
If you really want to stretch that little 6x's legs, a 200 yard zero is a good place. If you zero at 50, your windage will be off downrange and you might be shooting short. With a 200 yard zero you'll have a pretty good idea of where you are on your windage. I like to confirm at 300. First get it on paper, take it to 100, then 200, then 300 to make sure your windage is good.
Don't worry about where you'll be for up close shooting. With a 200 yard zero, you'll be pretty darned close at 50, about 1.5 MOA or about .5 mil high at 100. You won't have to start dialing until you go past 200. For the up close stuff, that's a matter of height over bore and that's a training issue that you're gonna have to deal with no matter what your zero is.
I'd suggest getting an app like Strelok or something. It will save you some time and ammo.
If that scope you have is the one with the duplex reticle, unless you only plan to shoot at known ranges, you're gonna need a rangefinder.
