Here are my two original trench guns accompanied by Winchester and Remington 1917 bayonets. The WWI model was serialized on April 18, 1918 and the WWII one on January 4, 1943.

I am no expert but one has a take down receiver.  I thought Uncle Sam used only the non take down?

That’s my understanding as well.  Maybe it’s for the WWI guns?
