Update on page 4. These are good!
Ordered some HDRs (Humanitarian Daily Rations) from Epidemic Proof. These are the ones given out around the world during a crisis. Has anyone tried them? Online reviews range from excellent to tasting like ass. They are 2200 calories so I figured I would give one a try tomorrow. I’ll report back but just wondering what I’m in for. Bean and potato stews very carb heavy. It’ll keep you alive, but not that great tasting bring Tabasco.

 Norwegian Artic Field Rations and French RCIRs is where the good eats are at. Unfortunately the French ones don't last as long as the U.S MREs, the biscuits go stale after a few years. |

They're cheap because they taste like ass. I heard a saying about them once..
"We give these out to third world shitholes? No wonder they want to kill us!" The two cases I got for free will be the last thing eaten in any SHTF situation because after those 24 life won't be worth living after that. |

It's been years but I got a "deal" (it wasn't) on a large amount (I think it may have been a gross) of HDR burritos.
They were borderline inedible and I understood why I saw people in the news using them as fuel for fires after trying one. |

 Attached FileThey aren't great, but would probably be good if you were starving.I cracked on open a couple weeks ago. Fig bar is delicious. Crackers are boring, I would recommend crunching them up into the entree. Cookie was good, jelly was ok. Peanut butter was delicious! ( I thought they came with sun butter) the pop tart was the only disappointing part. Unfrosted, and the filling had crystallized or something. It was crunchy in spots. the lentil stuff was ok, and the bean noodle in tomato sauce was too sweet kinda, like baked beans with too much brown sugar moreso. Hot sauce helps. Report back! |
