The situation is that my father is going on a semi-work related trip to Ireland on Sunday.  It seemed like a great opportunity to ask him to bring me back a bottle of something that I can't get here in the States.  He's willing and is asking me for suggestions on what he should be looking for.  I have no idea and searching online has given me a couple options.  That said I thought I would post the question in here and see what the hive says.  Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I'm not a big drinker and am fairly uneducated when it comes to the good stuff.  Regular Jameson is my go to.  I have a bottle of Jameson Gold that rarely gets sipped on and a bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel that I need to try.  I'm a Wisconsinite so I mostly drink brandy old fashions and brandy slushes.

I would recommend Bushmills’ 10-year triple-distilled.  Bush mills is the world’s oldest licensed distillery (1608).   They age their whiskey in previously used barrels, and finished in sherry casks.
Their 30-year old offerings are excellent, but pricy.

“At the gift shops, many distilleries offer distillery exclusive bottles. As the name implies, these whiskeys are not sold in other locations. These are definitely the items to look for when shopping at a Scotch whisky distillery. They will be a little more expensive than the normal bottle, but these are unique products. “

That references Scotland, not Ireland.

That stuff is great, but the price went way up in the last year.  And like you said, you can find it in the US.  I think that this Gold Spot 13 year is Europe only  https://midletondistillerycollection.com/spot-whiskeys/gold-spot-generations-edition-product/?utm_source=mvr_website&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=gold_spot_generations_launch&utm_content=buy_now

Check their website.  Their other brands are very nice too, like Powers, Redbreast, Jameson.  But those have some availability in the US also.

A friend brought a bottle of Kilbeggan Irish whiskey back from a trip.  I believe it was a 21 year old distillery only or non-export release that you could only get in Ireland.  It was fantastic.

I would look for something like that.
