Why the fuck are these hoses so god damn hard to get out of the thingy?
It’s like you need to pull the fuck out of it to make it the foot to the truck. Then usually you have to hold the mother fucker or it will just roll back up. Messed up my god damn manicure. Attached File |

I hate how the 2.5-gallon DEF bottles you buy at Wal-Mart and such all have nozzle designs that cause you to spill 80% of the DEF into your trunk rather than pour it into the tank. The carpet in the trunk of my diesel sedan is absolutely rancid.

Just tuck your purse up under it to hold it in place

DEF crystalizes, the hose needs to be protected from the elements, and the owner of Bucees knows folks who cry about stiff hoses are too lazy to properly stow them when they're done.

There's a few reasons that it's short. First is mainly contamination of fuel by people that don't know any better. Second generally Def at a pump is for on-road vehicles. Unsure of any tax related issues.. Third is likely the approval process for the equipment.
I never asked any of the people who approve or certify what's called RMFD or retail motor fuel devices about this prior. I honestly work in the field and just haven't had that question asked. I don't know of a requirement on it from my state or Nist. I would hazard to guess it's something to do with the approval for retail use. There's other requirements for hose length that mostly deal with a single hose dispenser delivering different grades of gasoline. Id have to get the book out to quote it. Keep in mind, that for the most part the majority of parts on a gas pump has to go through a specific approval process. Changes can void the certification. Also at least here in NC it's tested on a one gallon prover, and again due to cross contamination the site owner must provide a method for disposal. My employer will not allow it returned to the tank. |

If you delete that thing you won't have to Fight with the def hose.

Cute car tires you got there.

The DEF hose at the fuel island for big trucks is the same. Just flex your shoulders, take a medium/deep breath and let it out. Grab it with both hands properly spaced out and give it a good/strong steady pull like you just paid your gym membership.

There’s this neat little trick you can do to your truck so you don’t need to worry about that.
