We went to SA in 2018 and had a great trip.  A good enough time that we made plans to return to the same lodge in March of 2020.

Then that thing happened, international travel was shut down and we couldn’t go.

We “won” the package at a fundraiser, so got into it for a little over $2k, includes the first 5 days of lodging, guides, meals, etc.  Also includes the first $1000 of trophy fees.  Then we paid another $2k in deposits, had all permits in place, tickets, everything.

The outfitter let us push the dates back, but things kept getting in the way, babies, new houses, work, etc.

By the time we were finally ready to make it happen, our friend who was our PH on the first hunt took a job as the manager of a different property.  It was important for us to hunt with him again as we had stayed in touch over the years, so we have made plans to use his outfit for our return in September.

The first place will let us transfer the package and deposits, so if you’ve ever thought about a safari in SA, I’m willing to make a great deal to recoup some of our funds to put toward this upcoming trip.
