[Last Edit: whiskerz]
I bought a used 23 foot Carolina Skiff with a 140 Johnson which is a rebranded Suzuki. It included a trolling motor and a trailer at a really good price. I am doing some engine maintenance since I do not have much history on the boat. (fuel filters ,impeller and batteries) before taking it in the water. I clearly need to post a pic.

Used to work off one, nice stable platform. Got used hundreds of days per year, held up great. |

That should do about anything you plan to. Creeks, rivers, lakes and inshore during moderate weather.
Though I've enjoyed paddle power thoroughly for years, i too have recently joined the petroleum powered cult. Not as nice and shady as your rig, but i adore the little thing. |

Cannot remember if your around salt water.
Watch the exhaust block plug as they can rot. Common problem with the earlier zuks. https://www.2coolfishing.com/threads/suzuki-df140-engine-holder-exhaust-plug-corrosion.2344754/ |

The place we rent boats from to go scalloping in the Gulf has a nice fleet of 24' Carolinas. Have fun!

I plan on taking it for a test drive in a lake by the house after my maintenance items are finished and then down to the gulf.

Growing up a buddy of mine had a skiff. Fantastic boat and we beat the snot out of it fishing and shrimping.
Would make a good striper and catfish boat too! |

Does your boat have a flat bottom? It's gonna be a hard ride if it does.

I am saddened by your plight. Allow me to offer my deepest and sincerest condolence. However, I do not have the Chaplain’s duty and I am short of towels. Please see the Captain of the Head for material for drying your eyes.

I didn’t take wife out on my C Skiff unless it was flat calm. Still loved the boat as you’ll love yours, looks to be a super capable rig that’ll be great for your area. |
