Anyone have any experience with them? Everyone seems to really like them. I haven't read much about the 167gr scenar though. I'm wondering if they'd perform better in a 10 twist Savage 10FP?

I'm a Scenar fan in .30 and .338, so I've shot them. I have a 10FP LE2b.

The 167 is similar to the 168 smk and popular in some shooting circles going a ways back.

The knock on the Lapua bullets back then, was their price. Back when you could sell bullets on Ebay, they made more sense.

What is their B.C.?

Lapua makes great bullets, if the B.C. is a little less than SMK's, but they group better, it's a wash.

I will take smaller groups over B.C. every day. The reason rifles have adjustable sights is to factor for wind. 168 grain bullets have never been good past 800/900 yards, I doubt the 167's would be any better.

Every barrel has its favorites. If the Lapua shoots smaller groups in your rifle, I would run with it. I would not expect it to work at 1000. .308 is at its limit around 1000 yards. Most competitors are using 30" barrels (or longer) when competing at this distance.

I own a 32" barreled .308 Palma rifle a 27.5" barreled .308 rifle dedicated to 600 yard tournaments. .308 needs all the velocity it can get for long range. A 1:10 twist helps. 175 grain SMK's and even 190 grain SMK's are a better option for 1000 yards.
