Looking for something new to play around with. I have a few browning t-bolt and lever action rimfires but never messed around with their centerfire rifles. Price seems reasonable enough. Looking at this model here in .243

Pros and cons of the x-bolt? It won't have much purpose other than my own enjoyment for something new to play with and do some load development and maybe the occasional coyote hunt.

I too would like to here what others have to say about the x bolt.  There seems to be very little talk about the Brownings.

Owned a few x bolts. Medallion,
Hunter, and hells canyon speed. Great guns if you plan to leave em stock. All mine easily shot sub moa with factory ammo. I owned 6.5prc, 7mm Rem Mag, and .308.

I recently inherited two of them from my father. One in .243 and one in .204.  The .204 was his favorite rifle and has smoked many coyotes.

Bought a Hells Canyon X Bolt in 300wm to take to Africa and for the life of me could not it to shoot to my standards. I spent a lot of time behind that gun and reloads and factory ammo, same results. I just couldn't get it to shoot.
I ended trading for a Christian Arms 300 Ridgeline and love to shoot it. Ended up buying another CA Ridgeline in 28 Nosler and couldn't be happier.

Local shop has a Speed in 22-250 that I've been fondling and drooling over for a while. It has a great feel, fluted barrel, threaded, and I love the bolts short throw and unlocking button. Sooo tempted

Nice rifles, as long as you plan to leave them stock.  There's pretty much no aftermarket for them.

I used to have a White Gold Medallion in .300 WSM.  I liked the rifle, but I got into suppressors and wasn't comfortable with threading it 1/2-28, which would have been as large as I could have done given the light barrel.  I also wanted to switch to .300 WM for ammo availability, so it got sold.
