I love shooting sports as much as everyone on this forum. Maybe more.
I want to take this shooting hobby to a very serious level. I am mentally committed and ready for serious handgun training for USPSA type competitions.
I am a 23 year old male living in Cleveland, OH.
Some of the clubs are listed on the USPSA website but I'm reluctant to call them up and ask a bunch of questions..

This. Just show up and shoot. Tell them you're new, they'll put you in the right squad. The sport is always looking for newcomers.
If you're serious pick up these Stoeger's books:
Skills and Drills: For the Practical Pistol Shooter
Dry-Fire Training: For the Practical Pistol Shooter
Practical Pistol: Fundamental Techniques and Competition Skills

Thank you for the reply.
I will be attending a non competitive shoot organized by a local shooting range this weekend.
Maybe there, I will find someone who knows better.

If you want to dip your toes in without buying a bunch of gear, guns, ammo, etc, try to find a bowling pin shoot local to you. If you enjoy that, keep going. I love bowling pin shoots
Thanks to BakerMike for the excellent avatar, and thanks to Defender3 for the membership.

Sorry about the late update.
I'm knee deep in this sport; I got a speed belt, speed pouches, extra mags, etc. I found a bunch of USPSA matches, steel shoots, IDPA..
I really like USPSA and recently signed up for a membership.
