It can if you need to adjust down more than your zero stop will allow. Some guys build in .5 mils below their zero stop in case they need it.
Meaning if they turn until their knob stops, their turret will show .5 mils below zero.
If you have your stop set precisely at your zero and your can moves your POI down, you will have to adjust your zero stop or hold under at 100 yards, or whatever distance you are zeroed at.
