I think they still appreciate people who follow the rules. I don’t know what is up with form one approval rumors. I understand all their current pressure politically is probably coming from democrats so that biases the feeling of what they are doing in an unfair direction- making all change suspect.
The Democrats are basically overt socialists, which is so close to straight Communists, that it blurs the lines. During covid they paid workers with printed fiat currency to stay home and we got to see empty aisles at grocery stores as wounded industry began to look like the communist markets we had always been shown as examples of communist disfunction during the cold war. The DNC see citizens as the enemy and put up fences and deploy thousands of troops to keep the voters at a distance while they miss represent the voters. They speak of a gun violence pandemic when the country politically just managed over a hundred thousand people to death during covid by discouraging doctors from making any attempts to treat desperately ill people with off label prescription drugs that were proven in successful studies to make a serious difference in recovery rate improvement. Its obvious safety isn’t their concern and power and control are the major concerns of the DNC. Hell purchasing oil from Russia and indirectly funding a genocide in Ukraine while we could turn back to energy independence here in the USA doesn’t reflect positively either, and looks suspiciously close to intentional support of whatever political persuasion we call Putins dictatorship.
I don’t like the moves for a permanent record of all numbers even non NFA. I think there should be amnest periods also on NFA registration more often, or fopa 86 ruled unconstitutional or both. I think the keeping of records of ownership is something that should change to protect firearms freedom. The Constitution should be considered sacred by every American and to be protected above all else.
I think the parts kits rule proposal as worded sounds like it might make parts kits difficult or impossible to sell. Like maybe an Ar15 would have to include neither upper or lower receiver. It was hard to read and understand the proposed language. Not including an upper creates another complex assembly for customers to have to build so it would restrict access to constitutionally protected firearms.
That question of is there anti freedom bias at ATF is a tougher question to answer when you aren’t literally an employee of the ATF, to get understanding of agency intent.
I also read when I was a kid that our system of the 4473 was based on the Nazi gun registration paperwork forms. That was something wayne lapierr of the NRA wrote in a book. Now Ive never seen the forms to prove that, but if that is true, we should just consider the whole enterprise fruit of the forbidden tree and scrap that system entirely.
Thats a big if of course because proof is important to clarifying that and understanding if Wayne lied or was accurate in his statement. I have tried to find the German form to compare it. I haven’t found it.
We are not Europeans, and we were never meant to duplicate Europe here. We can obviously see Ukraine and realize 600,000,000 firearms here would put us in a better place to defend ourselves from a foreign invasion. As far as I know day one, Ukraine had only 18000 guns to distribute to citizens tasked with defense. The world isn’t as big as it used to be. The oceans aren’t quite the safety buffer they were even in WWII. These issues are more relevant today. If it comes to that point, there will be no country to come to our aid. That is our function in the free world. We support the others. That is the precedent we have set, and what the world expects, and as a result they have no structure to support us.
