I get paid my mileage for work, don't do a lot on the weekends. I get paid mileage from when I leave the house until I return Monday through Friday. I just stop at the store, run errands, etc, on the way home. I drive a Hyundai elantra that averages 34 mpg. I am reimbursed 30 cents a mile. I actually make out a little, I am currently paying $3.25 a gallon.

Election year so they are gonna pump all the oil they can to keep prices low.
When you consider back in 2006 or so gas was $2.70 ish a gallon and now at $3.20 or so it's kinda a bargain with all the other inflation goin on. |

I mean I can't exactly walk to work. Or rather I suppose I could, but I ain't doing that. I reckon I'm gonna pay whatever it is.
It helps that I drive old paid-for shit, I don't have a mortgage of a car payment to deal with. I want a new ride, but financially it's just not a good idea. |

Well I took a trip to Texas for the eclipse(and my sister lives down there so I got to visit her). 2100 miles each way from Oregon. About $1400 in fuel for the round trip. Downside for my vehicle is it is tuned for premium from the factory - and it took me a bit to check mileage on google maps to do the conversion, and my speedometer/odometer are reading about 12% low(noticed this in a construction zone in Idaho that had radar speed signs), after conversion I was getting about 15mpg in my Jeep. Price in Portland - $5.09. Lowest price I saw on the trip was in Childress, TX - $3.57/gal. I think sleeping in a broken seat that won't recline at rest areas messed up my shoulder. I need to replan how to pack things in there so I can crawl in the back and lay down.
