Advice on rowing machines needed
I have used a Concept 2 at a Crossfit box before, and its a great rower. They run $900. Money doesnt grow on trees.
Are there any other rowers worth a crap that cost less?
I found one called a Kettler Favorit that runs about $400, and it has good reviews.
I wish I could find someone on Craigslist selling a concept for ten bucks, but Alabama isnt known for fitness

There are a few ergs that are good, but I Honestly would be patient, you should be able to snag a C2 older model (C? or something) or so for a few hundred. Another option is to call fitness equipment brokers/dealers and see if they get any trade-ins/leased items, or know of places that do...
I'm not a rower, but I know a few and they tell me that the C2 is the way to go. Be patient, look for an older one...
Step 1) Buy a Barbell
Step 2) Buy some plates
Step 3) Bend over and row

Great exercise, but not the same stimulus as a C2 rower.

Obviously.
Both are used for generally different purposes.
C2 is the only rower that you will find actual rowers using.
I wasn't aware that there were other brands until I left the rowing community.
And what the fuck? You make enough money to get what you want.
Just remember that the hook that holds the handle is not for long term storage. You'll stretch the chain.

Haha. I am married, so HH6 has to approve purchases.

Tell her you're getting it for her, since she could use the workout.
Gosh, these things are so simple!
I bought a Concept 2 when my wife went back to work and I needed a way to work out at home. Best $900 I ever spent. I did a lot of shopping, nothing really compares to them. Pretty much every rowing team around uses them not to mention crossfitters everywhere. Save your pennies, wait, and buy one when you can. If it is any consolation Alabama isn't the only hard place to get one on Craigslist, they are scarce everywhere, people just don't sell them very often.
Well, money does grow on trees
So, should I just say fuck it and get the Concept II?
If you gotta row, get a good machine. No sense in going cheap unless you have plenty of cash to blow on a better one later.

Obviously the advice of a single man. Rule #63 of happy marriages, Never buy your wife anything exercise related unless she specifically asks for it.
You could just call your wife fat and save the $900 for a good divorce lawyer.
Apparently my sacasm detectors are not up to full speed today.
