I just had this happen the other day and surgery two days later. They pulled the Bicep back down and stapled back to bone . Doctor says 3months do nothing but bend arm. Anyone else have this like to know what to expected. Any info would be great.
Thanks.

Just so we are clear I had arm in full cast for three weeks and they just removed.

Stappled it? OR did an Edno Button repair.

Was it a distal tear?

Your doctor seems to be a bit cautious. Mine was a bit agressive. It's a little hard to say what to expect until we know your procedure.

I personally had the double suture anchor method. Arm was in a hard cast for 11 days and I began light weight excersizes at week 4. By the 10th week my repaired arm was only lagging in size by 3/4" of an inch. Currently I'm 25 weeks post op, and I've managed to put on more size then prior to the tear. Strength is still a little lagging on my bad arm, but then I haven't been training it for power anymore, just mass. Still hurts like a bitch doing barbell rows and pullups/pull downs, which will continure for close to a year according to my doc.

The initial down time sucks the worst. As soon as you get back into the grind and seeing even a little progress, time starts flying.

Stapled back and said 3 months before during anything, I was just moving a piece of equipment maybe 100 lbs and heard a loud pop. I have always been active racquet ball, baseball and racing dirt bikes I guess wear and tear got the best of me.
