This was the one game worth buying a new rig over. My old computer is 4 years old.
Time to upgrade.
Already have the digital download qued on battlenet
hope you didn't spend too much money on your new rig... It's going to be neutered to be playable on consoles just like every other "decent" game released within the last 5 years.

D3 has a date and Torchlight 2 doesn't; what's this world coming to?

I dunno, Blizzard is pretty faithful to the PC crowd, nothing they've done that I can think of in recent history has been ported over to consoles.
This game may make me want to put together a decent PC to play it. I think I aged at least two years without really noticing anything with all the time I put into Diablo II.

People said the same thing about the Diablo II when comparing it to Diablo when it came out way back when. "Too cartoony." "Too bright." "Too easy." "Too etc."
It's slated to sell 5 million copies the first year and is already #1 and #2 on Amazon due to preorders.
It'll be a good game.

Some games are best left alone for the systems they were originally designed for. This is one of them.
For sure the item customization for characters in D3 is going to be much less than in D2 (can't make a beefy melee sorc, for example) but there's still a good deal of customization in the skills and how you modify them.
The core of the game, killing tons of enemies with skills and abilities, hasn't changed. Even hardcore still exists.
The only real gripe I have with the game is that Blizzard has gone full-lazy with the art direction. It's a high-res WoW.

D3 is toward WoW game play with power cool downs. You're better off buying Guild Wars 2.
