Should I do a quick run through of Assassin's Creed 2 again before starting Brotherhood...

...or does it refresh my memory on the plot line?

I'd run through ACII before Brotherhood, if for nothing other than the fact that I think they were both great games. I wish I'd played AC1 before Revelations though.

I should clarify that I have already played through AC2, but it's been a while and I remember most of the plot, but not all of the details.

Unless you're looking for an excuse to play it again, just read a plot summary.

AC1 sucked... horribly.

The games after it started to correct the lather, rinse, repeat formula of the first.

Honestly, one of the most boring fetch quest games made to date.

Color me surprised when I picked up Revelations and fell in love with the story and new elements added.

––-Just read the whole thing in Brian's voice from Family Guy. Gotta stop watching that show.

AC1 isn't too bad if you skip all the extra stuff and only do the minimum required to advance the plot.

...of course, it only takes 5-6 hours to play through in that case.

Yeah I heard the first one was really repetitive, which is why I never played it and went right to ACII, but "meeting" Altair in Revelations I was like wtf is this guy. I mean, not really, but the character would have been different to me had I played the first game.

I stopped playing after 2, maybe one day I'll pick it back up. Is it just more of the same with slight differences after 2?

The play style is very similar, yes, but I feel like they tweak the attacks/enemies enough to keep it interesting. 2 was my favorite though since that's the first one I played.

Kinda sorta. AC:R adds a whole lot of versatility that your character didn't have before though (hookblade/zipline ftw!)
