I've had a PS3 since it was released but I don't have any games for it, looks like that is about to change. Any idea on a release date?

ETA: I wonder if the actual gameplay will be anything like what was showcased in the trailer. The AI, both friendly and unfriendly, seem pretty dang smart and I like how the man and girl appear to trade dialogue during gameplay.

I read an article recently that said the developers compared the game to the original cinematic trailer to Dead Island. That trailer was really emotional but the game ended up being kind of generic. Naughty Dog wanted to shoot for that same emotional level and have it applied to an entire game. They'd been developing the game in secret when that trailer hit and they were initially worried that the two games were too similar. Obviously they're not.

Yes the gameplay should be like the trailer. Smart AI, diaglog sort of ad-libbed through out the gameplay, its a seamless system that is REALLY enjoyable. I played all three Uncharted games within the last month and they are amazing. The attention to detail is fantastic and the gameplay is immersive. I felt that the Uncharted games were paced really well too, so I imagine this should not dissapoint.

But damn, the amount of detail in that game is just mindboggling. Taking rounds from a revolver when picking up ammo. Nose bleed after getting slugged in the face while wrestling that guy. Rummaging around his pack. List goes on and on.

Playing video games on a game console... Ridonculous...

While I agree in general (this stuff has gotten awfully stale... it's all pulled me back into flight games) Last of Us seems to be a little different in that the violence is needed to make it through a post-disaster world. Arfcom should be on the up and up with that, considering many posters' desire for a societal collapse. There's a story somewhere post-E3 where a developer said as much.

I agree, I have no worries about arfcommers playing games that are extremely graphic and violent like Last of Us, what I do have a problem with is the average wanna-be-thug 13 year old getting this game with the help of their parents who care less what they play or watch, which will outnumber the good guys on here getting it for some good entertainment.

You realize at some point games will be 'real', in the sense of the brain stimulation from graphics, 3d, etc. Do you really want to go home from work and feel what it actually feels like to bash in someone's face or cut their throat? If you do, you probably need help. We've gone from Contra, to this and I see a world of difference, some don't.

Did anyone else find themselves trying to look around 'the game' while watching the video?
