Yes, you , you sniveling little man. You couldn't get a bunch of alcoholics drunk in a brewerie. How you managed to get appointed to comissioner of the NHL is beyond me. I've seen 8 year old kids with more common sense then you! You can't fathom being wrong, trying to implant teams in markets where they can't be succesful. I don't want my team paying for the fucking Coyotes. WTF man? Get your head out of your giant ass, you punk bitch. Stop ruining my favorite sport.

There are a number of things this guy has done to trash the league... The mass expansion of the NHL in the early 90's was one of them.

Your favorite sport is hockey?

Crazy

The NHL isn't what it used to be, IMO

Huh? I hate the Cubs Bruins and the Laughs Leafs with a fiery passion.

Detroit should be in the East IMHO.

And fuck this stupid draft pick thing where the worse teams get the best players and the best teams stay good because they are allowed to sign 11 year contracts while middle of the pack teams don't get good picks and stay middle of the pack forever.

Did I mention Buttman's referees? I wish it was open season on Zebras. Stevie Wonder would probably do a better job.

+1

I really miss the old Wales/Campbell Conference days.

Leave the fucking geographical alignment of Divisions to the NBA.

Oh don't get me wrong... I hate the Flyers and Pens but that hatred comes from the old Patrick Division. You knew when the Flyers came to Landover to play the Caps that it was going to be a war. I fucking HATE the Southeast division... Ooooooh Tampa Bay... I can't take the excitement!

New Jersey Devils
New York Islanders
New York Rangers
Philadelphia Flyers
Pittsburgh Penguins
Washington Capitals

Now THAT is a Division!

PFFFFT toi all of you whoi think you have the Chuck Norris division...

Anaheim Ducks
Dallas Stars
Phoenix Yotes
San Josie Sharks
LA Queens

I hate the Queens and their ghetto dwelling, Raiders fanatic fan base with a white hot burning passion. The Southeast San Francisco Pole smoking Sharks and their fans are a close second...

I'm sure they are both just bitter that Anaheim won the first cup in CA.

Yeah...no rivalries here.

LoL...Dawn.
(Please don't be offended by this question, because I have no idea how long you have actually been a hockey fan... And, I may have completely misunderstood your post).

You do realize that when he wrote "Chuck Norris" Division, he was making a reference to the old NORRIS DIVISION, right?

Prior to 1993, the NHL conferences and divisions were not named for their geographic locations.
They were:

Prince of Wales Conference

Adams Division
Montreal Canadiens
Boston Bruins
Buffalo Sabres
Hartford Whalers
Quebec Nordiques

Patrick Division
New York Rangers
Washington Capitals
Pittsburgh Penguins
New Jersey Devils
New York Islanders
Philadelphia Flyers

Clarence Campbell Conference

Norris Division
Detroit Red Wings
Chicago Blackhawks
St. Louis Blues
Minnesota North Stars
Toronto Maple Leafs

Smythe Division
Vancouver Canucks
Los Angeles Kings
Edmonton Oilers
Winnipeg Jets
Calgary Flames
San Jose Sharks

It was a better time... The NHL lost some of its tradition, history, and charm when the league went to the geographic names like freaking basketball.
For some reason they decided they needed to dumb things down.
If you already knew this... please disregard my post.

(BTW)...WALES CONFERENCE, PATRICK DIVISION.........FOR THE WIN!

I'm old enough to remember when the old Smythe Division was a MONSTER - mid to late 80s, Edmonton had the Gretzky/Messier dynasty, Calgary had Mike Vernon and Doug Gilmour, Vancouver had Kirk McClain. The Division Championship was almost always the Battle of Alberts, Oilers/Flames.

One of the absolute best Series I remember was a First Rounder between the Flames and Canucks. It came down to a OT Game Seven that was possibly the fastest hockey I ever saw and Mike Vernon and Caprain Kirk trading one big save after another. Anyone who saw that game knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Then there were the Chicago/Detroit Series of the era, Hawks had Denis Savard and Ed Olczyk, Wings had the top line of Yzerman/Probert/Gallant. Those were more brutal games - spitting out teeth on the bench brutal. Savard was a massively dirty player back then.

Well...Learn something new every day.

I watched the 1980 Olympic tournement with my dad, and thought the game was really cool then...but it was never on television regularly. I started watching Hockey on TV during the Gretzky days of the Kings, it's just not something I grew up with here in SoCal.

I became a a huge fan when the Ducks came to OC. So 1993. I never thought to read history books about the game before I started following it.

I'll just stand over there in the corner, and keep my mouth shut now. ––––>

The coolest thing about growing up in SE MI was the opportunity to see NHL games on Hockey Night in Canada on the CBC.

Bob Cole and Harry Neale may be one of the greatest sports broadcasting tandems ever.

And the original theme ROCKS.

Classic video - The Good Friday Brawl, CBC Broadcast. Bob Cole and Mickey Redmond calling the game.

Did someone say middle of the road forever?

Grew up in Boston and always hated the Bs cuz my Dad did. (Just wasn't a hockey fan I guess)
Moved down here and am thankful (along with thousands) to have a hockey team.

Just wish we could pick up a Carcillo type and get rid of fucking Hamhuis. Pekka Rinne is a stud!

The way to the top in the NHL is to finish last. Look at the Pens and the Caps

Then you get the first pick in the draft and sign the guy to an 87 year contract

I love Hockey very much but it sure is no longer what it was when I was really into it back in 94 / 95. I was and still am a Fan of he Avalanche the funny thing is really because of Uwe Krupp. I stuck with them even after he left never will forget the Goal he scored in the third overtime period of the fourth game of the 1996 Stanley Cup finals against the Florida Panthers. Any how sorry for this little of topic just reminiscing the old times.
