Earthquake in the Stan
Just checked the news but I just experienced the first earthquake ever in my life he on the outside of Kandahar. Evidently it was a 7.4 south of us in Pakistan.
Cool, thanks. I was weird feeling. Kind of cool here, not so much at the epicenter I'm sure.
Had a couple of those rock us a bit when I was in Kandahar.
Had a crazy one hit northern Astan one night at 3 in the morning last year––––shook the fuck out of my hooch at Salerno. Thought it was another vbied at the gate for a second or two.
Here in Anchorage, we seem to have them a few times a year––-I'm not a fan.
Yeah they are pretty damn scary. After I got back from Iraq I had my first earthquake in Hawaii... then I got to Afghanistan and went through 3 that shook Bagram. I hate the things.

i remember looking up at the blocks in the ceiling, thinking, after all the dumb shit that happened that month I would end up dead because of a fucking cement block falling on my head while I was asleep...

Which is why I'm glad I never took apart the bunk beds and slept on the bottom bunk.

Last year in the stan we just got back to camp clark and I was laying down in my hooch and thought the guy nextdoor was pounding his pudd really hard. I about told him to stop when someone said "does anyone else feel that?". Thats when I knew it was an earthquake. We never get them in GA. Apparently it was like a 7.2. There was another one a few months later while at a COP.
I was sitting on my couch in Bahrain and the couch did a break dance across my living room floor. Room mates mirro was banging on his wall. Felt two tremors in Bahrain.
I am 3 hours north of KAF on highway 1 and I didnt feel shit. No one talked about it either.
Odd.
