sex while deployed contractor/military

are people allowed to have sex while deployed to afghanistan. Is it punishable...like getting sent home? I am asking about civilians and military are there different rules for both. I have heard alot of rapes occur out in afghanistan also.

I left there in June. Military can have sex over there (as long as you stay within your rank) I assume civilians can too.

Since civilians are not bound by the military's policies of same sex relationships, I don't see that you have a problem.

Depends on your organization. My group follows by USCENTCOM General Order 1B and as a result we are prohibited from any kind of fraternization. Whether or not it happens... that's a different story, but if found, we're kicked out of the AOR and banned for two years.

This is pretty standard across the board for most organizations

Pshhhh... there is no one in the majority of the work offices after 9 PM. I would know as I exit my office its a ghost town. The cipher locks help as well... I've thought about it as I get into my office early and I always hope I don't walk in on anyone.

Married guys are still forbidden under 1B.
I guess they've eased up on the single guys in recent years.
Kind of tough to have sex if you go months without even seeing a female beyond some toes sticking out from under a burkha.

I think that you inadvertantly asked a question thats somewhat of a touchy subject for deployed personnel. We've historically been barred from any sexual activity while deployed. They recently eased up on the rule for single people, but its still highly discouraged for them and forbidden for married personnel. Does it happen? Yeah, but a lot of guys don't like the women who go over and act like they are Cleopatra of the Middle East because they have a product that is in short supply to begin with, out-of-bounds per regs and all the side issues that go along with that. My first year there was one fairly plain looking female who pulled a train in-country, taped it and posted it on the net.Were the guys responsible for participating? Yeah, they were adults. People still got in trouble over it.

i have heard of it going to womens heads. I know its a touchy subject but i figured we were all adults and it would be fine to ask. I was just curious to see what people had to say about it. I didnt mean to get people upset. After these 2 or 3 get back to stateside they will get a rude awakening. When i was in the navy the same thing would happen while out to sea. After about 8 months out to sea everyone started to look good. They had a lot of problems with married/single/ people having sex. Also fraternazation....people lost rank over sex. I could never understand that...i would never let anything get in the way of me making money

Yes, you can have sex, as long as it doesn't fall under typical fraternization regulations. Ie, enlisted/officer, Sr/Jr enlisted, etc.
As for assaults on KAF, yeah there are, but I've heard they're typically instigated by TCN's or LN's. No official data backing that up, just heard from guys that have access to the classified reports. (I have clearance, just no computer access)

Here is a sort of funny sort.... A few years back the deployments of a military couple overlapped in the sandbox. Not having seen each other for a few months, they tried to find a private location. Their choice was not that good and they were caught. When the commander spoke to the husband, an E-5, he was told he was getting a letter of reprimand and that his wife, an E-4, was getting an article 15. He was a standup guy and did not think it was right that he, the NCO should get off lighter than his lower grade wife. The commander merely told him to let it go, and be happy with the lighter punishment. It still did not sit well with the husband and he again protested. The commander still told him to drop it and accept it. Still trying to stand up for his wife he asked how he could appeal because it was not right. The commander looked at him, said, "son, she is being punished more severely, because this is not her first offense."

I wasn't aware you could have sex in the AOR. That's good to know, as i'm just finishing up a divorce and in my attempt to find some old strange, just found out i'm deploying to the same location as an ex from college
