Coolent leak of doom

A good buddy of mine in the Birmingham area (second with the problem) has a 2007 Xterra that has been diagnosed with this problem. Jasper does have a vender/mechanic list on their web-sight that I pulled a few names from in his area. I’m pointing him to a Jasper transmission simply because I have had good luck with mine (1996 Z71)

What is the mind of you guys that are in the know?
Is Jasper still a reputable company?
I did find a few negative reviews on the web but what product doesn’t have a few now days.
Thanks for any advice.

I take it he has more than 80K miles on it?

I've probably replaced a dozen or more transmissions at our store due to the radiator issue, but not a single one because the trans failed on it's own.

I'd recommend he contact Nissan consumer affairs before buying a Jasper.

After the new transmission, remove the rad from the situation entirely. Go buy the biggest external trans cooler he can afford.

I've had good luck installing Jasper units, but I've heard they can be real sons of bitches to deal with if you should ever have one fail under warranty.
