”Contraband” review
I searched and didn't find a review so I figured I would save some fellow ar15.commers some time. This was one of the three worst movies I have ever seen. Picture a cross between ”gone in 60 seconds” and ”the Italian job” only without ANY entertaining parts. Its predictable, the editing is awful, the acting by most of the cast is atrocious, the dialogue is fucking stupid, the gun scenes are commically bad, they take these fantastic leaps of logic that make you stare at the screen and randomly ask your neighbor movie goer ”are they fucking serious?" to which the kindly old woman near me replied ”this movie is horrible”. I shit you not, opening weekend, theater 70% capacity or so and I saw at least 30-40 people get up and leave (I thought about it at least three times but I've never walked out of a movie). Numerous audible groans from the audience throughout. At least afterwards you had that fellow camaraderie with everyone else that you had survived one of the worst movies the collective had ever seen. Shit they even managed to make Kate Beckinsale look pretty homely throughout. I thought the previews looked good but wow was it a steaming pile of shit. Run away, run Far FAR away.

Thank you for the review.
I wasn't too interested in seeing it when I saw the previews for it. I'll probably avoid it now.
Just to give us some perspective into your taste in movies what were the 2 other worst movies you have seen.
Thanks for the warning about this film I was thinking about seeing it.
You Know for a man who is not to fond of firearms Mark Wahlberg sure likes to star in movies in which he uses them as for the movie looks like a typical B grade actioneer more of a rental than a theatrical experience.
I was thinking about seeing this, thanks for the warning

I hadn't seen this thread, and I went to Contraband last night. I can tell you that M4-Pilot is spot on.
This movie was beyond awful.
My thoughts about 20 minutes in were "This is just like Gone in 60 Seconds except really awful"
Glad I passed on this movie. It was out of this and Underworld. Luckily I saw this thread, I would of probably went to see it on another day.
Underworld was pretty good, btw. Kate, leather, guns= win, win, win.

The trailer alone wasn't enough to warn you off?
I just saw it and I really enjoyed it.

No, actually the trailer made it look pretty good in my opinion.
Yeah, I agree with all of he above too. And instead of some sexy, Michael Mann style smuggling in a cigarette boat or airplane you get to watch a bunch of sweaty dudes in a dirty freight ship. Maybe more realistic but not escapist entertainment. Also, what was with all the Schlitz beer? Wedding reception scene, warehouse in Panama, at the bar, in their house... Did Schlitz pay to put all that in there? Who drinks Schlitz now anyways? This movie was not set in 1974 so what gives?
